Thredbo is a pretty village snuggled into the foothills of Australia's highest mountains. It is just a slice of the 690,000 hectares that make up the beautiful Kosciuszko National Park.
There are places to stay, places to play and places to pray, all tucked up in the 1000 hectares that make up the cosy resort. Slope-side is activity central all year round, and the other side of the mountain is full of facilities, modern services and has a great village atmosphere.
A highlight of Thredbo is that it is full of seasons, each with its own amazing distinct features. The chilly winter winds bring snowfalls that blanket the mountain and soon the slopes are buzzing with snow lovers. When spring arrives, the snow thaws to reveal lush green trails ready for hikers and bikers and the sleepy flora and fauna slowly start to awaken. By the height of summer, backpacks and walking boots are the norm with Thredbo and the Main Range bustling with explorers and bursting with colour. Along comes autumn and the landscape takes on a whole new hue with a crisp bite in the air, then we are ready for winter all over again. It is truly a resort for all seasons.
The great part about the mountains is you set your own pace. You can stay as busy as you like with the variety of activities on offer or just kick back, do very little and enjoy the views.

 SUNDAY 15 FEBRUARY - FROM 3:30pm
Thredbo residents, staff, owners, operators and friends are rallying on Sunday afternoon to hold a fundraising BBQ to raise funds for the Red Cross in aid of the Victorian bushfires.
The "all welcome" community event will be held at the Thredbo Community Centre. The entry cost will be $5 per person and a BBQ and bar will be operating along with fund raising competitions and raffles.
